We all know music brings the world together. And while in Malaysia, though it may sometimes feel like we’re divided as different races, music can always remind us that we’re one nation, one people.

An example of this is a Malay man who knocked everyone’s socks off after he was caught on camera singing a Tamil song.

Varnam MY took to their Facebook page to showcase the video of the Malay singer, and we have to say, you guys all need to hear this man SING!

Sing 2

Varnam MY wrote, “An unknown Malay man stole the limelight on social media platforms by singing Ilayaraja’s hit song, aptly titled ‘Thendral Vanthu Theendum Pothu’, from the movie ‘Avanthaaram’.

They went on to praise the man’s mastery of not just his craft of singing but also his delivery of the language.

Sing 1

“Gosh, his vocal chops and impeccable pronunciation of the Tamil language needs a special mention. You’re one in a million!”

You genuinely have to listen to this man’s rendition of the song to believe just how amazing it is!
