In Love With Film Photography? Here Are Several Shops In Malaysia Where You Can Get Them Developed & Scanned!

If you are a fan of film cameras, then you will probably wonder where are the places where you can get them developed and scanned, which is to get the negatives processed and scanned into digital files (soft copy).

Here are several shops in Malaysia where you can get your film rolls developed and scanned after you are finished taking pictures.

1. Darkroom8

Located just right behind the famous Sunway Velocity mall, darkroom8 is a popular film developing and scanning shop in Klang Valley. It is open everyday from 10am to 6pm, while the express service is closed at 4pm. The shop also sells different types of film rolls and film cameras.

The development and scanning service is RM16.80. Besides, you can also mail your film rolls to them for the service if you don’t live near. For more information, check out their official website and Instagram.

2. Bang Bang Geng

This shop located at Publika has been operating for many years. Having the mission to bring back the love for photography, Bang Bang Geng sells all sorts of film cameras and offers repair services, as well as development and scanning services.

The shop opens from 11am to 8pm everyday. Do check out its Instagram profile for more.

3. Filmlab

Filmlab specialises in film processing and scanning. You can order the service online via their website here, and then send the films along with your order and payment slip to:

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The pricing for colour negatives dev and scan is RM18, and RM30 for black and white negatives. It takes 2 to 3 days to get them done, according to the website.

4. Zon Tiga

Zon Tiga is a photo bookstore in Petaling Jaya that offers dev and scan as well as other services. They are closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Do check out their Instagram, Facebook and website if you are planning to pay a visit!

5. The Duckroom

The fifth film lab on the list is based in Johor Bahru. As the name sounds, they provide dev and scan service, and there are also items like film rolls, reusable film cameras and photographic papers available for sale. You can also tag #TheDuckroomWall on Instagram to get your film pictures featured!

Their operation hours are from 10.30am to 6.30pm every day, except Sundays. Check their website and Instagram out if you have any questions.

6. Film Never Die

Probably the most popular on the list, film enthusiasts have definitely heard of the name Film Never Die. The shop has cameras, films and polaroids for sale and provides dev and scan services for different types of films from only RM8.

The shop is located at Batu Pahat, Johor and is open daily from 11am to 6pm. It also has a website page dedicated to resolving your questions regarding developing and scanning. Do also visit their Instagram page or email shoot@filmneverdie.asia if you need information from the experts.

7. Lomocrewz

Lomocrewz is located in a cafe in Kuantan, Pahang. It is a vintage camera store in Malaysia that offers all sorts of film rolls, cameras, and film processing as well as camera repair services. It is open daily from 11am to 5pm, and the website provides 24 hours of customer service.

One good thing about the shop is that it provides worldwide shipping and you can pay for the products in both Us Dollars and Malaysian Ringgit. Check out their website and Instagram page if you are interested!
