As announced by the Ministry of Health Singapore on Saturday (Oct 23), the republic will be reopening its borders to more countries including Malaysia which is now placed with Cambodia, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Mongolia, Qatar, Rwanda, Samoa, Seychelles, South Africa, Tonga, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Vietnam under Category III measures.

As reported by CNA, starting from 11.59 pm on Oct 26, all incoming travellers from Malaysia will be able to serve their 10-day quarantine at a place where they have declared to be the place they stay in Singapore. This is regardless of their vaccination status or travel history of themselves and the members of the household.

Travellers from Malaysia will also no longer need to undergo an on-arrival Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test. They will only need to take an exit PCR test at the end of their stay-home notice.

Malaysian travellers will also no longer need to take the Antigen Rapid Test on the third and seventh days of their arrival, during their stay-home notice period. This announcement this good news to those who are planning to go to Singapore soon, especially for work. Even with the reduced restrictions, we hope that fellow Malaysians will still take the necessary measures to be safe to prevent the spread of the virus.
