Passing away without your family members and loved ones beside you can be a very lonely and scary affair. And, it is only right for one to be returned and reunited with their family, after their death, so that they can rest in peace.

This is why the Persatuan Kebajikan Amal Da Ai Malaysia did everything they could to send a man’s ashes back to his mother in Tamil Nadu, India, after he had died alone in Malaysia.

They took to their Facebook account to request for help with his funeral service and in ensuring that he makes his final journey home, but has since shared with WORLD OF BUZZ that they managed to fulfill their goal.

Funeral 1

They wrote, “Donations for the funeral service of the late Mr Ganesan, who came to Malaysia from India for work. 42-year-old Mr Ganesan from India passed away about a month ago. Since he had no family members in Malaysia, his remains have been left unclaimed in the hospital mortuary.”

His mother and family members are eager to claim his remains. Hence, we have decided to manage his funeral service. We call upon everyone to help so that Mr Ganesan’s ashes can return to his hometown of Tamil Nadu.”

They have since managed to reach enough donations to cover the cost for Mr Ganesan’s funeral and other expenses.

Mr Ganesan had apparently passed away while he was asleep on his couch on 29 April 2021, without leaving any words for his family members.

Funeral 4

“After learning of Mr Ganesan’s passing in Malaysia, his family members contacted the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, for help. Upon receiving a request from a kind-hearted person, we decided to manage his entire funeral service to avoid leaving his remains at the mortuary for too long,” they shared.

They held the funeral yesterday, 24 May, in Rawang and will be sending his remains to be cremated today 25 May, before arranging for it to be sent back to his hometown in Tamil Nadu.

Funeral 5

“We treat every unfortunate one equally regardless of their nationality, race or religion, ‘Great love has no boundaries’ remains as our core value,” they added.

It’s truly saddening to know that his family members couldn’t be by his side during his passing, but we’re thankful for the effort the NGO has put in to help reunite them.

And we’re sure Mr Ganesan’s mother would appreciate their efforts too.
