As announced by Senior Minister for Security and Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, all interstate and interdistrict travel activities will be prohibited nationwide starting Monday (10 May 2021) to 6 June 2021, and you may only cross districts or states if you have obtained approval from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

To clear up confusion, Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) stated that, those who have a MITI letter, employer’s letter or work pass to travel interdistrict or interstate for work purposes do not need to obtain approval or stamp from PDRM.

Following the MCO 3.0 announcement, MITI also provided infographics for reference.

For workplaces within the MCO area, only 30 per cent of staff capacity is allowed. All economic sectors are allowed to operate, except for those listed under the negative list by the National Security Council.

Besides, workers can also choose to work from home if given approval from the respective employer. For any further enquiries, you can reply to the tweet of MITI Malaysia here, or private message them on Twitter. Stay safe!
