This just melts our hearts!

Seven months ago, Malaysian Mohd Izwan Sarip went viral on social media when he went to the edge of Singapore (Woodlands Park) to meet his family who were waiting across the water at the edge of Malaysia. At that point, the family had not seen each other physically ever since 18 March 2020 which amounted to a whopping 205 days.

Well, Izwan still hasn’t been able to physically meet his family due to travel restrictions imposed from the Covid-19 pandemic. In the month of Ramadhan, Izwan had the opportunity to break fast with his family, although virtually thanks to McDonald’s Singapore’s MyHappyTable campaign which aims to reunite Malaysians stranded in Singapore to celebrate the Ramadhan month with their loved ones.

On 16 April, McDonald’s Singapore posted a heartwarming video depicting how some Malaysian workers were stranded in Singapore due to their work commitments. The video went viral garnering almost 7K shares with both Singaporeans and Malaysians coming together and praising the effort put into by McDonald’s into reuniting these families.

While there is still no official confirmation as to when the borders would be reopened, we can only hope that these separated families never lose hope and their love for each other!

Let us know what you think about this!
