While most frontliners are occupied with thoughts wrapped around the Covid-19 pandemic, this doctor has been busily thinking of a way to help his patients by teaching them a little dance.

According to a report by China Press,  a video of a doctor at a hospital in Hunan, China, recently went viral as it showed the doctor performing an ‘Orangutan dance’ for a group of patients.

Mental 2

The doctor who performed the dance was said to be a psychiatrist. The video shows a group of patients sitting as they watch the doctor in front of them. Once the music starts, the doctor is seen getting into position and starts dancing.

The video then shows him demonstrating the dance to his patients and to our surprise, they danced along with him! According to the doctor, “The patients themselves danced and laughed.”

Mental 4

The peculiar ‘treatment’ method soon went viral as netizens found the doctor’s actions highly entertaining. Some were worried and said, “the patients are already unwell, now the doctor is ill too!”

When asked about the intention of this ‘dance‘, the doctor stated, “We think this is a good way to adjust the patients’ mental state.”

What are your thoughts on this ‘Orangutan dance’? Do you think it can help the patients?
