Most of us would have seen our neighbours, friends or our own family members partake in Chinese customs and rituals during The Hungry Ghost Festival.

This includes burning paper money, paper houses, or even paper cars as per tradition to ensure your ancestors and loved ones that have passed are living a comfortable afterlife.

With the pandemic going on, it is essential to take precautions for our own safety by washing our hands regularly, sanitising, and of course, wearing our masks. And that includes our ancestors too!

This Thai netizen shared a picture on Twitter of unique paper offerings to burn for the deceased. It is a gold coloured paper face mask in a pack!

In the tweet, the netizen wrote, “Worship to ancestors for the coming of Chinese New Year. And [I] found this one, haha. Everyone can get Covid-19! Even our ancestors in heaven. Hopefully, they get protected in heaven too.”

Some netizens shared other fancy paper offerings that they have encountered along the way.

Here’s one that a netizen shared of “SK-III Skincare products” so that their ancestor will not forget their skincare routine!

And here’s another luxurious joss paper that a netizen came across. Yes, a MacBook!
