Hypermarkets like Giant have been almost everyone’s go-to place for grocery shopping and buying everyday essentials. With the Covid-19 cases constantly on a rise, most of these places have tight SOPs to curb the spread of this contagious virus.

Unfortunately, Giant just took to their social media pages today, 13 January, to announce that multiple members of staff from their Subang Jaya hypermarket have tested positive for Covid-19.

In their public statement, they mentioned that they are working with the health authorities to provide health checks and tests for all their staff and team members as they were advised by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to do so.

They have decided to close the hypermarket in Subang Jaya for 24 hours starting today, 13 January, to conduct full sanitisation and deep cleaning.

According to their post, the Ministry of Health will be conducting the necessary contact-tracing. They have also urged their customers to reach out to MOH for any further verification.

“For more information, please call MOH’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre’s Hotline at 03-8881 0200,” said in their statement.
