In a statement recorded by the company, Gardenia Bakeries confirmed that it will be increasing the prices of selected products by up to RM0.20 starting December, as reported by Astro Awani.

The following products will be increased by RM0.05 and priced at RM1.10 starting next month:

  • Gardenia Squiggles Funky Strawberry
  • Gardenia Squiggles Choco Malto
  • Gardenia Delicia Soft Roll Butter Toffee
  • Gardenia Delicia Sambal Bilis

Meanwhile, these other products will be increased by RM0.20, priced at RM4.70 starting next month:

  • The Gardenia Toast’em Butter Raisin
  • Gardenia Delicia Butterscotch
  • Gardenia Delicia Choco Raisin
  • Gardenia Delicia Raspberry, Milk & Cranberries

“This price check is due to the price hike of raw materials such as vegetable fat, cocoa powder, milk, and packaging. Our focus now is to continue to increase efforts to optimise productivity and operational efficiency,” said the spokesperson in the statement who added that the decision to increase product prices was the last resort.

Gardenia Bakeries added that no other products would face a price increase other than what was mentioned in its statement. Previously, a post listing Gardenia’s new product prices went viral on several Facebook groups.

What do you guys think about these price hikes?
