In the wake of the third wave of the Covid -19 pandemic, we hear the emergence of new clusters in public places almost on a daily basis now. The latest to join the list is Malaysian rubber glove manufacturing company, Top Glove.

Top Glove confirmed in a statement today that 17 of their employees have tested positive for Covid-19 since January 2020, which is less than 0.1% of the total workforce of 21,000 people.

The affected employees were all asymptomatic and most of them did not have a fever. After a swab test on Monday (November 2), they were isolated and after testing positive, they were admitted for further treatment. Top Glove reassured that deep cleaning and sanitisation of the affected country, living quarters have been carried out in accordance with guidelines from the Ministry of Health.

“In tandem, contact tracing is underway and employees in close contact with the affected employees have been tested and put on home quarantine pending results.”
