Malaysia has been ranked 18th in the world for Covid-19 cases with a total number of 673 positive cases.

The Ministry of Health reported that Malaysia has the highest number of cases in Southeast Asia, although the highest number of death cases are in the Philippines and Indonesia with 14 deaths and five deaths respectively.

They also reported statistics from World Health Organisation on 18th March 2020 that almost 200,000 people have been infected worldwide with almost 8,000 deaths worldwide.

The death toll in Italy is over 2,500 with a 7.9% death rate over China’s 4%. Malaysia on the other hand has had two death cases and 49 recoveries with 0.3% mortality.

The Ministry of Health also reported yesterday (17th March) that the virus has reached all the states of Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak. The states with the most cases are Selangor with 161 cases, and Kuala Lumpur with 113 cases.

Now that Malaysia has been put on movement control order, please stay at home and avoid travelling or going to crowded places. This is to ensure that the virus doesn’t spread further. Let’s all do our part!
