This is great!

Our beloved athlete Lee Hup Wei has qualified for the 2019 World Athletics Championships (WAC) finale in the high-jump category. According to Malay Mail, the tournament was first introduced by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) in 1938.

Hup Wei – who qualified through the wildcard round – rose to victory after he managed to make a beautiful 2.29-metre jump in Doha, Qatar. This record was also his personal best!

FYI, the wildcard contestant representing Malaysia was handpicked by KOM (Kesatuan Olahraga Malaysia).

He broke his previous record (2.28metres) which was obtained in Canberra, Australia last year (2019). This amazing record made Hup Wei the FIRST MALAYSIAN to enter the finale of the World Athletics Championships. Wonderful!

Well, we wish Lee Hup Wei all the best for the finale and hopefully, he can bring back a gold medal for us. #FingersCrossed
