Riding a motorcycle on Malaysian highways can be challenging and dangerous. To combat this, the local authorities have built a motorcycle lane that separates them from the normal roads to ensure the safety of our riders.

Even with a separate lane for them, their safety is not guaranteed especially with the presence of reckless car drivers everywhere. In a video shared by Muhammad Azzri on Twitter, a Toyota Vios had bewilderingly trespassed the motorcycle lane along Federal Highway and the car was even being driven at high speed on a lane that can barely fit the car.

From the video, we couldn’t tell whether the driver mistakenly went into the lane or he followed the lane on purpose in order to stay out of Federal Highway’s infamous traffic congestion. At the end of the video, the driver exited the lane upon reaching Jalan Templer.

It dangerous enough for riders to even use this motorbike lane as the condition of the road can be bad sometimes. They don’t need another element that can put their lives in danger. Hopefully the authorities could take action on the reckless driver and set an example for other drivers to not simply go in the motorcycle lane.
