FamilyMart Malaysia never fails to surprise and delight us with their new flavours of Sofuto, that popular soft serve ice cream that has captured the heart (and tastebuds) of many. Just as they decided to stop selling the Sea Salt ice cream flavour, they have now come up with a new crowd-pleaser for their Sofuto.

This time, they are launching their Belgian Dark Chocolate Sofuto that looks simply delicious! Plus, anything chocolate has definitely got our vote! They had previously posted a teaser on their Facebook page for the new flavour, and have now announced that their new flavour will be available starting from 28th August.

It’s a dark chocolate flavour that is creamy and rich, so you know they’ve got themselves a winner. It’s priced at RM3.90 at all outlets, and RM4.90 at KLIA2 and Resort World Genting. Since we had a FamilyMart near us, we just had to try it out for ourselves and here’s our verdict!

It was a pretty good ice cream that’s smooth and creamy, as expected. The flavour was better than most chocolate ice creams for this price point but don’t expect to get a super-rich dark chocolate taste! Overall, it was still a great cone of ice cream.

That’s not all, as they also have a new Sofuto Milkshake made with the same smooth and rich sofuto as well as 100% creamy fresh milk so you know that it’s going to be good. It comes in two flavours, Matcha and Belgian Dark Chocolate, and are priced at RM6.90 and RM7.90 individually.

As for these two milkshakes, we tried them out as well and they were really creamy. It tasted a bit like their Sofuto and while the flavour was not very strong, it still makes for a rather satisfying drink, particularly if you prefer drinks that are not cloyingly sweet.

If you want to grab some, better get it fast before it’s sold out!
