If you suddenly see a surge of British travellers in local confectioneries, this might be the reason why!

Just recently (July 2018), a British tourist who goes by the handle AnnieIWillKnow on Reddit shared the most amazing thing that had happened to her while she was waiting in the Malaysian airport for transit.

Here’s what she wrote:

“Found in Kuala Lumpur International Airport – you can still buy Cadbury’s Dream bars in Malaysia!

She went on commenting,

“It was an outrageous £5 (approx. RM24) for a bar, but I couldn’t resist. My sister has already requested a portion of it.”

Just so you know, there’s a reason why this British traveller was uber-hyped about it!

In 2002, Cadbury Dream bar was introduced in Britain as the white chocolate version of the Dairy Milk bar. Sadly, it didn’t garner much popularity so it was taken off the market just a few years later.

That was the darkest day for all fans of the Cadbury Dream bar as they did not know where they could get this sweet treat anymore. However, they finally saw hope after the Reddit post went viral online. Many sweet-toothed netizens expressed serious interest in flying to Malaysia just to get one (or six hundred) of this ‘rare’ creamy white chocolate treat.

This beloved chocolate bar even gained a cult following among the Brits when some of them even started a petition for it to be brought back!

Many non-British netizens were surprised by the traction created by this post. Some pointed out that Cadbury Dream bars are actually available in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia. Why not Britain!?

Of course, the Brits can order it via Amazon, but that would cost them a whopping £8.95 (approx. RM43) per bar!

Anyway, we’re glad that the British fans of this chocolate bar have found a new hope in their lives, and if you’re living in Malaysia but haven’t tried Cadbury Dream bars yet, you better get some now before others come and sapu it all!
