Local and international cave divers were involved in a grueling three-day mission to get them out of the treacherous cave, which began on Sunday (8th July).

It was definitely not an easy effort, as cave diving is extremely risky, especially with the murky floodwaters and the pitch darkness of this specific cave. In fact, one Thai Navy SEAL diver tragically passed away while on his way out of the cave.

Thankfully, things ended on a high note now that all of the boys and their coach have been taken out of the cave safely!

Danish diver, Ivan Karadzic, who was part of the team helping the young boys out of the cave told BBC News that he was beyond impressed with them, saying,

“They are being forced to do something that no kid has ever done before. It is not in any way normal for kids to do cave diving aged 11. They are diving in something that is considered an extremely hazardous environment, in zero visibility, the only light in there is the torches you bring yourself.”

“We were obviously very afraid of any kind of panic. I cannot understand how cool these small kids are … Incredibly strong kids.”

Team Moo Pa (Wild Boars) have definitely done the impossible by making the entire world root for one football team! We wish all of them a speedy recovery so that they can get back to playing football in no time!
