Malaysians do have faith in the new government but at the same time, they are wishful that they can do something to save their beloved country. So, a Malaysian named Sabahbathi Rajalingam from Selangor wrote a letter to the Prime Minister’s Department to express his wish of donating money to help repay the national debt.

Here’s the translation of the letter.

“As a Malaysian, I’m very happy with the new federal government, which is why I wholeheartedly wish to contribute in repaying the national debt. Although the amount is too little, I believe my effort will help in some ways to reduce the burden of the new government.

“I’ve included my contribution of RM100. Hopefully the new government can manage the finance and economy of the country well.”

Unfortunately, there were a few netizens who disagreed with this movement.

This is certainly a very noble gesture but please keep in mind that neither the government nor Bank Negara has yet to set up an account for this initiative. So, don’t simply donate until a safe account has been created by the government guys!

Hidup Malaysia!
