Ahh, Damansara Uptown — everyone’s favourite hangout spot. Klang Valley dwellers know that despite its insane parking and traffic, Damansara Uptown is definitely the place where all the best restaurants are located.
That’s why we decided to compile a list of some of the restaurants in the area we think you guys should definitely try the next time you drop by, if you’re completely out of ideas on where to hang out next!
1. Departure Lounge
If you’re into a travel-themed restaurant that serves great breakfast and pasta, Departure Lounge is definitely the place to check out!
We definitely recommend their “Do It My Way” breakfast platter, because it’s totally customisable and you can choose between 3, 5 or 7 breakfast items for pretty decent prices!
If you’re in the mood for a heavy main course to split among two people, Departure Lounge also offers their Traveller’s Platter, which consists of grilled chicken, fried dory fish, spicy aglio olio pasta, fried calamari, soup, fries, AND a salad all in one huge platter!

2. Fat Spoon
Famous for their local fusion cuisine, Fat Spoon is a favourite of many Damansara dwellers.
If you haven’t gone to Fat Spoon yet, you should definitely try out their signature Claypot Lou Shu Fun, mixed in with their homemade minced chicken sauce and a raw egg for a little more flavour.
Their other specialty, the Ulam Spaghettini, is another must-try. Made up of spaghetti tossed in curry sauce, ulam herbs and minced chicken, this dish is definitely on our favourites list!

3. BingSu Cafe
Fancy a good ice cream or fried chicken with waffles? Well, BingSu Cafe is the perfect place for both of those things!
We definitely recommend their Black Sesame Bingsu, but they also have pretty more out-there flavours like Mango and Durian, if you feel like taking a walk on the wild side!
Their Korean Fried Chicken is also another favourite, not forgetting to mention their Yangneom Chicken Waffle if you’re the kind who loves to eat chicken with waffles. Agh, we’re getting hungry!

4. Tsujiri
Everyone goes to Tsujiri for their matcha-flavoured desserts. If you’re in the mood for something simple, O-Matcha Soft Ice Cream is definitely the way to go. However, if you’re looking for something with a little more dimension, their O-Matcha Parfaits are definitely worth trying, too!

5. Random Food Store
This place is definitely one of the more aesthetically pleasing spots on our list, perfect for all you Insta-foodies out there!
One of the Random Food Store‘s must-tries is their wide variety of steamed baos. Some of them even have wagyu beef! Their Pan-Fried Kambing Gyoza is also another dish that definitely deserves a try. Plus, check out how delicious their food looks!

6. A Pie Thing
You’ve probably heard of this restaurant, famous for their wide variety of savoury and sweet pies.
One of the more interesting pies at A Pie Thing is their Nacho Chicken Pie topped with a few nacho chips and cheesy sauce. If you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, we recommend you try out their Smores Pie. Plus, look how cute it looks in photographs!

7. Bonfire Restaurant & Bar
Located in The Starling Mall, Bonfire serves up a wide variety of local fusion meat dishes, all roasted in a custom wood and charcoal fired oven, giving everything they serve nothing short of unique and rich flavours.
One of their must-tries definitely has to be their Meat Platters, where you have the option of choosing between 2 and 3 different types of meat including grilled squid with otak-otak, a rack of lamb, their signature Wagyu steak, and much more! (Bring a friend or two along, because this dish is definitely meant for sharing!)

8. Pâtissez
Pâtissez is widely known for their insane-looking milkshakes called FreakShakes, since loads of Malaysian foodies flock there just to try them out.
Aside from their huge milkshakes that look good for the ‘gram, this restaurant also serves some pretty delicious savoury dishes, like their Freak Burger, which looks pretty dang delicious if you ask us!
