Seberang Prai Utara OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor stated that the accident occurred when the four-wheel-drive driver who was driving from Bukit Mertajam to Raja Uda lost control of his vehicle. The accident took place at the traffic junction in Taman Bagan, Jalan Permatang Pauh, at 5.40 am.

He stated that the victim was rushed to Hospital Seberang Jaya Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and passed away after receiving treatment there.

“She was pronounced dead at 10pm at the hospital on the same day,” he said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

What a heartbreaking tragedy. To think that she hadn’t even started her business that she must have been looking forward to yet. We hope that her family will be able to stay strong in this dark time.
