Previously, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) had appealed to the public for help in locating Suri Narudin, who had been reported missing since 8 December.
Tragically, Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad later confirmed that a woman’s body was discovered on 18 December, buried behind an unoccupied house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, Rembau.


A man has been charged with the murder of Suri Narudin
As previously reported, Ampang Jaya District Police Chief Khairul Anuar Khalid said the woman’s aunt lodged a missing persons report at the Ampang Jaya Police Station in Selangor on 15 December.
In the latest development, a 51-year-old man was brought before the Magistrate’s Court today (26 December) and officially charged with the murder of the 53-year-old victim.
According to BERNAMA, the accused, Zainizan Zainal, nodded in understanding as the charge was read out before Magistrate Mohamad Redza Azhar Rezali.

He faces the death penalty or up to 40 years in prison
The charge was brought under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or a prison sentence of 30 to 40 years. If the death penalty is not imposed, the accused may also face at least 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction.
However, no plea was recorded today as murder cases fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Balkis Zunaidi did not offer bail for Zainizan, and the case has been scheduled for mention on 27 January next year to obtain forensic and post-mortem reports.
