After a few days of hunting for a medal at the Tokyo Olympics, Malaysia was finally awarded a bronze medal through the victory of the national badminton doubles, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik. Defeating the doubles champions from Indonesia, Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan, they showed an amazing fighting spirit to bring glory back to the country. Despite losing the first set with 21-17 points, they bounced back and made it to the deciding set with 21-17 points and sealed the victory with 21-14 points.

For all Malaysians who were watching from home, as always, it is a thrilling experience with everyone on the edge of their seats. The anxiety levels when watching a badminton match between a Malaysian shuttler against any opponent is too damn high, especially when there is a medal at stake. We used to experience this all the time when we watched our beloved Datuk Lee Chong Wei in action and last night, the tables turned when Datuk Lee Chong Wei had to endure the same anxiety.

Datuk Lee Chong Wei Talks About Wet Armpits

Through his Instagram Story, he expressed his pride in Aaron and Soh Woi Yik for winning a medal for Malaysia. He also revealed that this was his first time watching a badminton match on television and it made him so anxious that he was sweating throughout the match. He said,

“This is my first time watching an Olympic medal match live on TV. Sweaty armpits!”

Well, welcome to the club Datuk.
