A food handler at a fast food restaurant was fined RM1,000 by the Magistrate’s Court on April 18 due to poor personal hygiene practices.
According to Berita Harian, the man was penalised after he was caught handling food with long fingernails.

The verdict was delivered by Magistrate Nurul Azuin Mohd Talhah after the 42-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge.
According to the charge, the accused committed the offence at 9:55 AM on June 23, 2024, at a fast food restaurant in Seremban.
He was charged under Section 33(1)(a) of the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009 and is punishable under Subregulation 33(2) of the same regulations.

The case was prosecuted by Mohd Yusri @ Mohd Yusof, a Public Prosecutor and Assistant Environmental Health Officer from the Seremban District Health Office, while the accused appeared in court without legal representation.
