A 4-month-old baby boy died at a childcare centre in Bandar Saujana Putra, Selangor, on January 3, and the mother was informed about her tragic loss via WhatsApp.

Just recently, a screenshot of the mother’s WhatsApp texts went viral on X, claiming that the baby she had died due to the negligence of the daycare centre. The woman also claimed that her child was left alone in a room and was neglected without supervision until he could not breathe.

It was understood that the daycare centre only had 2 caregivers looking after 25 babies.

“He was healthy and alive when I sent him, and I just breastfed him. Thank you for taking away my right as a mother.”

“Even if it was due to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), it could still have been prevented if someone had been watching over him at all times.”

The mother also said that the last time she changed his diaper was when he was alive before he was sent to the daycare at 9 AM.

“Eight hours later, I had to change his diaper when he was already dead. I will never forgive them, in this world or the hereafter,” she said.

Despite her long rant and lengthy texts, the mother was eventually removed from the WhatsApp group without an apology from the childcare centre.

The daycare centre is unlicensed

In an official statement by PDRM in Kuala Langat, the police confirmed that they are currently investigating the matter.

Kuala Langat Police Chief Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said that his team received a report from a doctor at a clinic in Bandar Saujana Putra at 3:29 PM last Friday (January 3) regarding a baby boy who was brought in by the daycare caregiver in an unconscious state.

“The baby was in a pale condition, with bluish lips and feet, no breath, and no response in the pupils.”

“The complainant immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and administered oxygen before the ambulance arrived.”

The baby was then taken to Putrajaya Hospital and was pronounced dead at 5:05 PM after more than 30 minutes of unsuccessful resuscitation efforts.

PDRM has opened an investigation under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2011, and statements from the daycare operator and staff have been taken, but no arrests have been made so far.

The police also confirmed that the daycare centre is unlicensed.
