In a heartwarming incident that has gone viral, a man from China visiting Malaysia found himself in an unexpected situation when he mistook an open house for a restaurant.
In a TikTok video shared by @lindaproton, the man, who was unfamiliar with the local tradition of open houses, had apparently walked into what he thought was a dining establishment, only to be warmly invited to join the meal by the host.

“We told him this isn’t a restaurant, but we’re having an open house for Raya. He might have felt embarrassed and wanted to leave, but we didn’t let him go. Everyone insisted he stay and enjoy the food. He’s great… he said thank you.”
The host also shared that they had served him soto, nasi beriani, kuah kacang, ayam masala amongst other food.
The video has gone viral, with many praising the host for their welcoming nature and the man for his good-natured response to the mix-up.
Meanwhile, some users shared their own experiences with embarrassing mix ups they’ve had in the past.
