With Yap Xin Yuan’s funeral completed, PDRM continues to investigate all three detained suspects, including Xin Yuan’s boyfriend.

In a report by Sin Chew, Xin Yuan’s 16-year-old boyfriend admitted to giving her a drugged juice, which they both drank along with the man’s 20-year-old brother.

The trio had the drugged juice at the suspect’s house in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, where the 16-year-old was shocked to find Xin Yuan’s lifeless body at 2:30 am.

The brothers, however, denied the allegations of sexually assaulting the victim.

Xin Yuan’s boyfriend, who has dropped out of school said that he got the drink from his workplace, where he worked as a waiter at a bar.

Following the discovery of Xin Yuan’s death, her boyfriend sought the help of his brother and drove their father’s Proton Persona to discard the body at Banting River. He also claimed that his father had no idea about the brother’s plan to discard the body.

In the meantime, PDRM also found Xin Yuan’s lion dance practice uniform in her boyfriend’s bedroom, her mobile phone, and strands of her hair in the bathroom.

However, the cause of death is still being investigated, and police said the delay is due to Xin Yuan’s decomposing body, which made the work even more difficult for the forensic team.

PDRM is also identifying if Xin Yuan willingly consumed the drugged juice, or if she was forced to drink it.
