Four Malaysian students from Kedah made headlines after winning two gold medals and securing second place in the primary school Engineering category at the Bangkok Innovation Awards.
Their achievement also caught the attention of Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, who praised Ilaneyan Yuvarajan and Theerchanna a/p Muniandy from SJKT KO Sarangapany, as well as Ilanarun Yuvarajan and Elamaaran a/l Muniandy from SMK Sultan Badlishsh.

Malaysia, represent!
In his Facebook post, Ramanan highlighted how the achievement shows that Malaysian youth aren’t just capable of competing internationally, but also excel in innovation with creative, high-impact ideas.
“Their success in Bangkok is a clear example of how the younger generation can bring pride and recognition to the country, especially in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
“What made it even more touching was knowing that their parents took time off to travel to Bangkok and support them in person. The sacrifices and encouragement from their families are the backbone of these children’s success and a reminder that achievements aren’t just individual efforts; they come from strong collective support,” he wrote.

“Malaysia needs more talented young people like them”
Ramanan added that he was especially touched when the students asked him for an autograph, describing it as “a great honour.”
“I added a few words of encouragement along with my signature, hoping it would remind them that their journey is just beginning and that their future is very bright,” he said.

He also took the chance to congratulate the students, as well as their parents and teachers, who have guided them throughout their journey.
“May their success inspire more Malaysian youth to be bold, innovate, and achieve on a global stage. Malaysia needs more talented young people like them to keep moving forward as a competitive and thriving nation.”
