The first Malaysian to bag three university gold medals!

In his post, Dr. Thachnatharen shared that his achievement wasn’t his alone, but a reflection of the support, guidance, and blessings from everyone who has been with him along the way.

“With this recognition, I’ve become the first Malaysian to receive the highest university gold medals at all three levels – Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD,” he wrote.

He went on to say how honoured he felt and hoped that his milestone would remind others that with discipline, perseverance, and sincerity, even the biggest dreams are achievable.

“I accept this honour with full humility. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. I hope to continue contributing, serving, and inspiring future generations,” he added.

“Always believe in long-term consistency more than short-term motivation”

Having completed his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD at the National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM), Dr. Thachnatharen earned the institution’s highest awards:

• Royal Education Award (BSc, 2017) – Presented by His Majesty, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong XV.
• Anugerah Sarjana Cemerlang Tuanku Canselor (MSc, 2023) – Presented by His Majesty, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI.
