A woman, who is 7 months pregnant, shared her heartbreak after her husband was arrested for testing positive for drugs on New Year’s Eve.

This incident took place when the car driven by the man, who is in his 30s, with his family in tow, was stopped during the ‘Op Ambang Tahun Baru’ roadblock at the Jalan Duta Toll Plaza yesterday (31 December 2025).

Ops 1 1

A 19-year-old pregnant woman is heartbroken after finding out her Malaysian husband is involved with drugs

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the operation, which began at 11 PM, was carried out by the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) together with the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), the Department of Environment (DOE) and the PLUS Berhad highway concessionaire.

The man, who tested positive for methamphetamine, claimed to have become addicted several years ago due to peer pressure.

“I bought ‘stuff’ for RM30. I only smoked it once. I smoked it 3 days ago. I only smoke 2 to 3 times a month,” the man claimed.

The man’s 7-month pregnant wife, who is a 19-year-old Indonesian citizen, approached the AADK inspection table to inquire about her husband. Overcome with emotion, she reportedly pushed his hand away and left the scene in tears with their family, stating she had no idea her husband was involved in drugs.

A nationwide operation

Ops 2 1

Deputy Director of Enforcement, Traffic Control and Summons Management for Bukit Aman JSPT, Deputy Commissioner Mohd Rozi Jidin shared that 240 operations were carried out across Malaysia, including 25 operations around Kuala Lumpur.

He explained that the operations were carried out to ensure road safety, besides focusing on illegal racing activities after midnight.

“We will also detect drivers who use alcohol and drugs. The police want to discipline road users to obey traffic rules and remind everyone to use roads with caution,” he added.
