An 18-year-old Malaysian man was charged at the Muar Sessions Court in Muar, Johor, today (16 October) for raping a Form 3 student, causing the victim to be pregnant.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to both charges that were read to him, which stated that he had raped the 15-year-old girl at her house in Segamat, Johor, in April and May this year.

The victim went to the clinic for a fever
According to reports, the victim had a fever on 7 October, and her parents brought her to the clinic for treatment. The family was shocked after the doctor confirmed that the 15-year-old was pregnant.
On the following day, a police report was lodged at the Chaah Police Station, and the accused, Dhanush, was arrested the next day.
The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Diyana Najihah Muhamed Fauzi, while the accused was represented by lawyer Mohd Haniff Hassan, reported Berita Harian.

Earlier, the prosecution offered bail of RM20,000 for all charges, considering the offence committed was serious. However, after hearing the defence’s arguments and appeal, the court allowed bail of RM10,000 with one surety.
The court set additional conditions whereby the accused is required to report to the nearest police station every month and cannot interfere with or communicate with prosecution witnesses, including the victim, until the case is resolved.
The matter has been set for the submission of documents on 9 January 2026, and the offence was made under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code for rape.
