Kosmo! reported that the number of people crossing the border during this school holiday saw a significant decline compared to the past.

For example, on 13 September, 17,030 individuals went through the border checkpoints to Thailand for the school holiday and the Hari Malaysia long weekend.

Moreover, both Bukit Kayu Hitam ICQS Complex in Kedah and Padang Besar ICQS Complex in Perlis saw a significant decline in activity recently.

This is due to the recent floods in Southern Thailand, with Songkhla province’s Hatyai currently not ready to welcome mass tourism again.
