It’s always amazing when Malaysians achieve great heights and make our country proud!
Fellow Malaysian Nadiah Hamzah was awarded a bronze medal at the world-renowned Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Awards. She received the award for a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video. Wow!
The Cannes Gold Lion Award is an annual event that is held in Cannes, France. The event aims to commemorate and award top of the line advertisements from all parts of the world.
According to Cannes Lions, the event “has been bringing the creative communications industry together every year at its one-of-a-kind event in Cannes to learn, network and celebrate.”
Best Ads On TV mentions that the impactful PSA video was directed by Nadiah Hamzah and is titled “Voice Of The Children: Bystander”. The video is 2 minutes and 46 seconds long, and there were additional two directors, Syed Madnuh and Emir Ezwan.
According to Campaign Brief Asia, Voice Of The Children: Bystander won the Single Bronze award. The video addressed a very concerning problem, which was bullying.
The video shows three teens of various races and genders as victims of bullying. Then, they address the viewers and talk about how sharing or liking videos of this kind are useless.
The video was created for Voice of Children, a non-governmental organisation and in association with the renowned advertising agency, Leo Burnett Malaysia.
