What is a wedding without an enchanting bridal dress? After all, it’s supposed to be one of the most historic days in the bride and groom’s lives.
Well, this couple from the southern Indian state of Kerala, Alappuzha certainly had a wedding ceremony they’d never forget thanks to Covid-19.
The blushing bride, Abhirami, was completely covered in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on her special day after her groom, Sarathmon S, was admitted to Alappuzha Vandanam medical college as he tested positive for Covid-19.
The couple reportedly didn’t want to miss out on the auspicious wedding ‘muhurtham’, and tied the knot at the same hospital along with the groom’s mother who is also Covid-19 positive, and another relative of the bride’s.
Authorities approved their wedding to be held at the hospital since the couple was supposed to tie the knot a year ago. Both families agreed for the ceremony to proceed last Sunday (25 April) as they were worried that the wedding may get postponed again.
The groom only wore a navy blue shirt and white mundu while the bride was dressed in a PPE kit from head to toe with only a pair of earrings.
This was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Sarathmon and Abhirami. At least they’ll have an interesting story to share with their children in the future!
