A toddler faced the fright of her life as her fingers were caught at the foot of an escalator.

The incident which took place at SM Marikina Mall, Philippines, was shared by Facebook user Antonio Romero.

The content of the video witnessed a toddler crying while sitting at the foot of the escalator as a security personnel tries to keep her calm.

According to Coconuts Manila, Romero wrote that the child fell after accidentally letting go of her mother’s hand.

“[The child] accidentally let go of her mother’s hand. Then she tripped on the foot of the escalator and fell on her backside. When she was about to stand, she used her hand for support and placed it on the escalator.”

“The mother tried to go after her but she did not get the chance to.”

“The child was moving vigorously because of the pain. The skin from her two fingers was torn off.”

Following a swift action by the security personnel, the toddler was eventually able to pull her hand free.

The poor little girl! Remember to always supervise children especially around escalators. It wouldn’t hurt to be extra careful.
