As we are all well aware, school children in Sabah and Sarawak have to face potential injuries and death just to get to school.

A while back, a schoolgirl in Sabah had to go across a rotting bridge which eventually collapsed just to go to school, whilst another group of students were showcased having to use a pipeline to cross a raging river for school.

In another instance, a recent video went viral after it featured a bunch of school children having to cross a river with a sampan just to get to school.

In the video, a group of school children can be seen boarding the sampan to cross the raging river from the departing side whilst another group waited on the side of the arrival.

“Don’t our ministers have a heart?!”

The video has gone viral on social media where netizens have criticised the ministers and the MP for not doing anything to resolve the issue.

“I thought it was just our generation that had to take sampans to school but it appears that kids now face it too. Whilst the kids of ministers get to go to schools comfortably, for us, our kids have to go through a war just to get to school,” said a user.

Another commented, “Every time I watch a video like this, I imagine my own kids having to go to school in the sampan, having to endanger themselves for their future. Are they just waiting for a tragedy to happen?”

“Even though the UPSR and PT3 exams are done, these kids still put in the effort to go to school. Hopefully immediate action will be taken,” said another user.
