Body shaming is a form of bullying, and when your teacher does it, you will not only feel humiliated but your teacher’s actions will also set a terrible example to the rest of the class.
Failing to understand this domino effect, this student’s teacher thought that it was ok to shame this student in front of her classmates, causing to have a meltdown in the car, on her way back from school.
In the 30-second video which garnered 300k views, the girl can be heard crying inconsolably along with the caption: “The teacher body-shamed my kid in front of her friends.”
“The teacher even compared her to her skinnier friends.”
WTH!
“From afar, I could see her crying. When she entered, it was all waterworks.”
The fat shaming did not stop there as the teacher mentioned that she might not even marry if she maintains her weight.
Towards the end of the video, the parent mentioned that the matter has been resolved as she decided to take the higher road and not punish the teacher for her actions.
“The case was resolved when I made a complaint to the headmaster. The teacher has been asked to produce a show cause letter, but I made the decision to take the higher road.”
“I hope this matter will serve as a lesson to the teacher and others. Body shaming should not be normalised. Kids too have feelings, she is only in standard four.”
