It is not news that Malaysian government hospitals are bursting at the seams with patients made to wait for days to get a bed.

Shortage of inpatient beds, overstretched resources and lack of manpower are just some problems that drive congestion at hospitals – which is sometimes exemplified by what this man had to go through during his visit to Hospital Serdang.

Here is a video of his outburst.

Condemning the staff for playing with their handphones and answering patients rudely, this man was out of love for the staff at this hospital.

Believed to have taken place at the Cardiology Department, this patient had to wait from 8am until 7pm for treatment.

Sigh. Sadly, this isn’t new for most of us.

Sharing her experience, this netizen writes: “When I experienced a miscarriage, I waited 2-3 hours befor giving up and making my way to another hospital, which was closer to my in-laws.”

“Mind you, my in-laws were 1.5 hours away, and it took that hospital only 10 minutes to get me treated.”

Netizens commenting on the tweet began a blame game as to whose fault it was that things are a common sight at hospitals these days.

Let’s hope that the new government will be able to at least shorten the waiting time for patients to get their treatment.
