A jewellery shop in a shopping mall in Bukit Tinggi, Klang, was hit by robbers at about 10pm on 22 February. The incident was managed to be recorded by a few bystanders who were there witnessing the crime.

It can be seen in a video that has gone viral of the security guards working for the shop pointing a gun at the two robbers before they ran away. It is understandable that the security guard cannot simply shoot his gun because they were many members of the public there.

The video also shows one of the robbers lying injured in the jewellery store after being caught by the public. South Klang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli told Harian Metro,

“At 10.15pm last night, police received a call from the public informing about the robbery. Initial investigations revealed that an employee was in the process of closing the business and suddenly two men were wearing helmets, dark vests entering the store. The suspects were armed with a hammer and they smashed the protective glass before taking the jewellery.”

Kudos to the public as well as the police department for their swift action. Hopefully this will be an example for those who have the intention to do crime, to simply not do it. It is not worth it.
