Malaysian-based Philippines actor Mark Adam recently went viral after his Satay business went viral for its high price—up to RM24.90 for three sticks of Satay that came with a Blue Lemon Soda drink.
The meat sticks are wrapped in thick layers of deep-fried, crispy skin, very much like a Popiah. Mark has also clarified his high pricing, stating that he didn’t make much profit from his business at the Shah Alam food festival.
In a recent TikTok video by the man himself, @officialmarkadam, Mark once again responded to a customer who claimed that Mark’s Satay contains more fat than meat and denied the Satay’s “premium” status.
“What do you mean this is premium? You merely wrapped the meat in Popiah skin, and I got more fat than meat,” the customer lamented.
Mark was well aware of the feedback, and he took the opportunity to respond to the customer via a video to show the quality of his food.
Mark removed each flavor of the Satays—chicken, lamb, and beef—and cut them into pieces to prove that all of his Satays were made with premium-quality meat, which has little to zero fat.
“Maybe you thought the meat was fat, and the fat were meat. But if you look here, there was no fat in the Satays. Maybe you forgot to recite Bismillah (prayers) before you ate,” Mark said.
What do you think of Mark’s clarification on his pricing and the quality of his Satay?
