The Malaysian man who came under fire for caning his nephew before throwing a chair at him has broken his silence to share his side of the story.
In a social media post last night (17 January), just one day after CCTV footage of the incident circulated online, the man explained the reasoning behind his actions against his 12-year-old nephew. He also expressed concern for his 76-year-old mother, who had been living with the child and, according to him, had faced dangerous situations at home.

He later shared additional CCTV footage showing his nephew’s alleged misbehaviour.
“He came to his grandmother with a cleaver.”
In the first clip, dated 21 October 2025, the boy was seen hitting his grandmother and attempting to snatch her phone. During the struggle, the elderly woman fell off a chair before getting back up in an effort to calm the child. According to the caption, the boy’s mother had refused to let him go out, triggering a tantrum that the man described as especially difficult for an elderly person to handle.
In another clip dated 9 January, the boy and his grandmother were seen arguing again, this time with the child allegedly carrying a “weapon”.

He was said to have taken a cleaver from the kitchen and approached his grandmother with the blade hidden behind his back.
When the elderly woman noticed the weapon, the boy ran back into the kitchen and later returned to the living room without it.
“Tell me, how can a 12-year-old behave like this? His mother always says to educate the child with love. The kid picked up a blade and went to his grandmother. You tell me.”

“You guys should stop calling me.”
After the post went viral, the man’s personal contact details and workplace reportedly began circulating online. In a later post that night, he claimed he had received numerous calls from unknown numbers, all carrying the same intent, threats.
“To those who have been calling me, I think you should stop now. You threatened me, said you wanted to kill me and my family.”
“I’m going in (going behind bars) anyway. Whatever. As long as you’re happy,” he added.
