Video: Police Are On The Hunt For Driver Who Hit-And-Run Food Delivery Rider

A video that has been circulating around social media of a GrabFood rider involved in a brutal accident after a car hit him.

It was discovered during the preliminary investigation that the incident happened on Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang heading to Sungai Buloh at 12:34 am last Tuesday.

According to Astro Awani, the Chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal from Petaling Jaya District Police stated that the 23-year-old victim has lodged a report on the hit and run.

“Based on the video that spread on social media, the accident was caused when the car changed direction from the right lane to the left lane and hit the back of the victim’s motorcycle in the left lane.”

This caused the victim to fly off his motorcycle while the car fled the scene. Nik Ezanee further stated that the victim has sustained several injuries from his limbs. His motorcycle is also completely damaged. He continued saying that the authorities are now actively pursuing the driver of the car that was involved in the incident.

They also urged the public to share any further information with the nearest local police station or contact the Traffic Investigation Officer Sergeant Saidatul Asma Ariffin at 018-9765949 / 03-79662222 about the incident.

The case is now being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
