A police officer’s job is to keep people safe and do what needs to be done, no matter the situation.

A recent video that’s been making the rounds online shows a police officer pulling over a driver while his family was in the car.

“Police are just ordinary humans too”

According to the video shared by X user @bckupacc99, the police officer stopped them because the driver didn’t have a valid license.

Things took an unexpected turn when the driver explained that he had just been out looking for a job but ended up getting rejected.

“Today is such an unlucky day. Went to look for a job but didn’t get it, wanted to go home but ended up with a summons,” the driver said.

Feeling guilty, the officer apologised to the family for issuing the summons, explaining that it was meant as a reminder not to repeat the mistake for the sake of their safety.

“Why didn’t the uncle tell me about his problem before I issued the summons?” the officer thought to himself.

The officer generously gave the family some money

The officer then tried to lighten the mood by making small talk, asking if they had eaten that day.

The driver responded by nodding, but the conversation took a turn when the driver’s wife revealed they hadn’t eaten anything since morning.

Hearing that left the officer with a heavy heart, prompting him to take out money from his own pocket to help the family.

The caption in the video highlighted that the officer’s contribution was the most he could offer to bring a smile back to the uncle as well as his family.

“It’s not about the body camera; it’s about having a heart and empathy. Issuing a summons is part of the job, meant to prevent the mistake from happening again.”
