Wow, these workers are seriously brave! A recent CCTV footage which captured three unscrupulous robbers trying to rob a 24-hour petrol station in Muar, Johor went viral after it was foiled when two workers stationed there fought back to stop them.
According to Sinchew, the incident reportedly happened two days ago on November 5 at around 3.50am when the three criminals arrived at the petrol station with machetes measuring at least 20cm long. That’s scary! The attempted robbery was fully caught on CCTV and it is quite shocking!
The robbers, who look quite young, had stationed one guy on a motorbike as a lookout while two others who were on another motorbike drove up to the cashier counter. Waving their machetes about, they threatened the worker who refused to give in to their demands.
From the video, it looks like the robbers got angry and tried to injure the worker who was sitting outside. He quickly got up and tried to escape into the shop to safety but failed to do so. The worker fell down while trying to run away and like a knight in shining armour, the other staff in the shop came running out to help him.
The worker managed to scare two of the robbers off but one of them remained behind. Meanwhile, the staff who had fallen down then picked up a folding chair nearby to use as a weapon. So brave! Both of them fought against the robber with the machete, at one point even picking up the metal dustbin to throw at the robber.
The other two crooks who had driven off came back to help their accomplice and the fierce fight continued. Looks like the two workers really fought with all their might, man! Finally, one of the robbers escaped from the scene by stealing one of the motorbikes parked outside even though one of the employees tried to stop him. However, he had to let go because another robber attacked him with his machete.
While the petrol station did not suffer any losses, both of the dedicated employees suffered injuries on their hands and shoulders because of the machetes. Apparently, the motorbike that was stolen belonged to one of the employees there and reportedly cost RM10,000. Hope the owner compensates him for his bravery!
The police said that the robbers may have been involved in similar cases and they are currently investigating.
