Now, we’ve seen time and time again, of how western countries tend to mislabel or misname Asian cuisines and food items.

But, it still doesn’t make it any less funny.

Inika (@inika_) took to her Twitter profile to showcase the menu of an Indian restaurant in Washington, United States, where let’s just say the names of the Indian food items have been somewhat… whitewashed.

She wrote, “OMFG.”

The restaurant served dishes ranging from ‘Dunked doughnut (savoury fried doughnuts) delight’, which is basically vadais drenched in dhal curry and ‘Dunked rice cake delight‘, which is basically idlis also swimming in dhal curry.

On top of that, they also donned ‘crepes’ on their menu, which are thosais. The plain thosais were called ‘naked crepes’ while masala thosais were called ‘smashed potato crepes’.

Also, what is up with those prices?

While the vadais and idlis are priced at $16.49 (RM73.44) and $15.39 (RM68.54) respectively, the thosais are at a whopping $17.59 (RM78.34) and $18.68 (RM83.24). Those better be some really freaking good thosais.

Considering the name of the restaurant is called ‘Indian Crepe Co.’, we’re really not surprised at the westernised names of the dishes.

You can check out the other misnamed food items here:

Considering how pricey the restaurant is (and their ridiculous names for the dishes), we genuinely hope that their food is actually good.
