While many kids these days are unhappy as their parents did not get them the latest smartphone or gaming console, there are others out there who are ecstatic to receive even the smallest gift.
One little girl showed us the importance of feeling grateful for what we have.
The VIRAL PERAK Facebook page took to their profile to share how the underprivileged girl was overjoyed to receive a toy watch from her father, who had purchased it at a sundry shop.
They wrote, “I’m not sure who these two are, but this happened before my eyes. Before this, the father would come to check out the place where vendors sell kuih everyday. He would sit on his bicycle and then he would cross the road to go the sundry shop.”
“Today, he came with his daughter, passing by in front the people selling kuih. He didn’t buy anything and went to the sundry shop. When they were about to leave, I saw his daughter taking something from her father’s bicycle.”
It turns out that the father had bought his daughter a small gift, which made her very happy.
“I saw she was very excited, I was excited too, wanting to know what it was that the father had bought. It turned out to be a toy watch,”
“The fun the child was having, even though the watch wasn’t a real watch. She jumped and hugged her father, and noticed that I was watching. She felt shy and pulled up her face mask over her face,” they added.
And we bet that the father was just as happy to see his daughter filled with such joy over his gift.
Seeing how the little girl felt so happy over her new toy makes us wish we were more grateful to our parents for all that we’ve been given in life. But, it’s not too late to learn to be more appreciative.
