Living in Malaysia, we have easy access to multiple TVB dramas over the years. For many of us, our childhood is based around watching TVB series at night with our parents. Some of the actors and actresses who have been constantly acting in different series have been ingrained in our minds.
One of the actors whom we will always remember is Liu Kai Chi.
Over the span of 40 years, he was in more than 90 TV dramas and 70 movies, including the 2017 Hong Kong action film “Shock Wave” and the 2018 action film “Project Gutenberg”, reported CGTN.
The actor had passed away on the night of 28 March 2021 due to stomach cancer which he was diagnosed with last December. He passed on surrounded by family members at the Prince of Wales Hospital and at the age of 66.
He is a two-time Best Supporting Actor award winner at the Hong Kong Film Awards for “Cageman” in 1992 and “The Beast Stalker” in 2008.
2021 has taken great Hong Kong actors from us such as Ng Man Tat. We hope that both he and Liu Kai Chi will be able to rest in peace. Their great works are forever eternalised in their films.
