Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has stated that the YDP Agong has decided not to see him again and because of this, Pakatan Harapan is unable to show proof of support for him by the 114 MPs. Tun Mahathir explains, as reported by Harian Metro,

“The YDP Agong has made the decision and Muhyiddin will take the oath of office as the 8th Prime Minister at 10.30 am today despite our majority. I do not have the opportunity to tell the Yang di-Pertuan Agong that Muhyiddin has no majority and cannot communicate with the palace.”

Tun Mahathir also explained that he could not meet with the YDP Agong and they will have to wait till the next cabinet meeting in order to show that they have the majority support to form the government. He also mentioned that, after Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has taken the oath, it will be difficult for them to change the government again.

It is safe to say that Malaysia’s political scene has been lit and it would be great if things can finally be settled and the leaders focus on what matters, which is to serve the people and ensure our country stays on the right track to be a prosperous one.
