Chinese-Filipina Model Janica Nam Floresca and her boyfriend Franco Hernandez, member of a Filipino dance group, were both young and deeply in love. Which made the accident in the Philippines in November 2017 all the more distressing when they were forced off a boat by strong waves, the Inquirer reported.

Neither of them knew how to swim, so while Janica clung on to the boatman, Franco held on to her.  Another strong wave would wrench her lover from her and by the time they were rescued, he was unconscious. At the hospital, Franco tragically passed. He was only 26.

More than a year later, Janica’s love still burns for her beau, as she regularly posts pictures of them together on her Instagram.

One year ago, I fell to my knees and stared to a million miles of distance, crying for you to comeback. I remember calling your name, waiting for your response, waiting myself to wake up in this nightmare. I thought 365 days would at least make me feel less painful as i was hurt too much, but it didn’t. It has been 365 of your absence, 365 days of missing you, 365 days of “being strong”. It has been 365 days and I feel like everything is stronger than ever, but the pain inside of me is still incomparable with these words or anything. There was so much more I wanted to say to you. There was so much more I wanted to do. There was so much more I wanted to be. I thought we had more time. For a year that I’ve spent every day sharing your life with the world. Telling stories of the person who changed me from the first time we said hello. I never knew love was like till I’ve known it with you. This past year has been a time of sharing you with strangers and making them feel like they have known you and loved you too. And for more years to come, I will continue to spread the light and love you gave to me. As much as I want to be with you right now, I know my life will end when it is supposed to when it is in God's time, it's just hard to accept it. My heart is different now, and every day is a fight to accept that. I have remained strong and hopeful for you, I have kept my promise to always do what’s best for myself for my family and your family. You taught me how to be strong and do all things with my heart and that is how I continue to live. Though I lost the love of my life physically, I hold near and dear all of the memories we have shared and it is the best feeling in the world. We we’re not perfect, we were not always happy, and we did not always see eye to eye, just as any couple. That’s the truth BUT we were indeed in love. We still are. Each day, God is revealling His reason for this new path and He is slowy giving me the understanding why I need to continue. Though this life is not the same without you, I want you to know that I am happy for you… ⬇️⬇️⬇️

To my dear angel in heaven, today is full of memories, happiness and tears. As I celebrate your birthday I think again of the time when God first brought you into my life. We shared a life as happy as it could be. Im missing the things we've done together. I can never forget the beautiful times we've shared together. It’s so hard pretending to be brave but loss has taught me many things and now i'm facing each day with hope and happy memories to help me continue this path. Happy birthday in heaven to the best boyfriend I could have ever asked for. Wherever you are resting, i hope that you can see how precious your memories to me. What we've shared will never die. It lives within my heart, bringing strength and comfort while we are apart. The love you have showed me was enough to last for the rest of my life. And whenever I want to see you, I just close my eyes and there you are with your arms widely open ready to hold me. You will always be with me no matter where life takes me. I hope that you are sitting in the sunshine today, laughing and smiling at all the memories we have made and the love we have shared. You are missed here by so many. Until we meet again my love, and prepare yourself for that day because I plan to come running as fast as I can, keep smiling keep laughing and we will keep living at the best we can. Mahal kita! Mahal na mahal! Happy birthday and happy 15th month mahal! ?

It has been 11 months since you left earth for heaven. How could these months passed by so fast, yet so slow at the same time. It feels like just yesterday. Although you were gone, there are many days I feel you are still here and I believe you looked down on us. It’s ridiculous but sometimes I find myself talking to you like a weirdo. I miss all of you love. I thank God everyday for sharing you with me. Ang dami kong natutunan sayo love! You loved me in a year that seemed like a lifetime. You taught me that I could be myself and no matter what happens I had your back. You taught me to screw the thoughts of other people because as long as we're happy that's what matters most. You were my bestfriend. We made so many memories in a short period of time and I laughed more than I ever did. We didn’t exactly get to share the longest amount of time together but for me those were the best time of my life. Thank you for continuing to teach me how to live, how to love and how to be strong my Mico. I love you so much! ?
