Chicken rice is a staple food for most of us and can be found in many corners of the world, especially in Asia. We have our famous chicken rice balls in Melaka, roasted chicken rice, Ipoh chicken rice and many more that have us salivating just thinking about it.
However, in Bangkok, they have a Giant Chicken Rice dish that is certainly not for the faint hearted! Just like its namesake, this chicken rice is suitable for those who love the dish so much that they can eat three kilos of it in a sitting. Yes, three kilos!
The shop which serves this Hailam chicken rice is Sri Leung Po Cha Na. Consisting of two kilos of fragrant rice and one kilo of delicious chicken, alongside slices of cucumber and blood pudding, this gigantic dish only cost 550 baht (RM68.81).

There are different types of chicken available to go with your rice, the classic steamed chicken and crispy fried chicken. If you can’t decide which chicken to choose, you can even request for a half serving of each. Looks so yummy! This Giant Chicken Rice is popular for people who want to throw parties and has actually been in existence since 2012.
It is said that the owner thought up of this dish after getting inspired by those “Big Eater” challenges that is popular in Japan. They also have normal portions there if you just can’t eat that much. If you’re not a fan of chicken rice, don’t worry because they have many other popular Thai food there as well.
