When we travel, we always look for hotels that offer great service, are in great locations, and are affordable.
The Riklin brothers recently constructed an “anti-idyllic apartment” adjacent to a gas station as part of an art work in the Swiss village of Saillon.
There are no walls or a roof in this 325 Swiss franc (RM1,490) suite; all that is present is a bed on a platform.
According to the website, the suite comes with a “welcome drink with local organic finger food, breakfast pastry from a local bakery with fresh fruit juice from the region, as well as the service of a Modern Butler.”
In case of bad weather, it also includes a hotel room reservation at the Hôtel des Bains de Saillon.
The main aim of this art installation is to make guests think about the problems in the world, as reported by Reuters.
“Sleep is not the point. What’s important is reflecting on the current world situation. Staying here is a statement about the need for urgent changes in society.”
The brothers have also collaborated with hotelier Daniel Charbonnier to create three more of these suites without walls or roofs. They are located in more picturesque spots such as in vineyards and on a hill.
These suites are open to the public from July 1 to September 18, 2022, and you can get more information here.
If given a chance, would you ever go to any one of these suites? Let us know in the comments.
